Instructions for use

Take the GOAP “PROTECT” fire extinguisher in hand.

Hold the device by the plastic handle. Remove the top protective cap.

Strike the initiator against the upper central black part of the device (activator) to activate it.

Direct the aerosol stream at the fire source.

Portable fire extinguishers – GOAP “PROTECT” – are a modern professional aerosol fire suppression tool for manual use, unmatched worldwide. GOAP “PROTECT” is used in handheld mode (as a portable fire extinguisher), effectively and swiftly handling the following classes of fires and fire situations:

CLASS A: Combustion of solid substances – flaming combustion. Subclass A1 (charring not exceeding 1 mm), model fire not exceeding 0.7A. Subclass A2 (wide spectrum). Wind load during extinguishing in open air should be minimal.

CLASS B: Combustion of liquids that are insoluble in water (gasoline, petroleum products, etc.), as well as liquefiable solid substances (paraffin, etc.). Combustion of polar liquids soluble in water (alcohol, acetone, glycerin, etc.). Wind load during extinguishing in open air should be minimal.

CLASS C: Combustion of gaseous substances (domestic gas, propane, methane, hydrogen, ammonia, etc.)

AEROSOL FIRE SUPPRESSION: PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The principle of aerosol fire suppression is based on the process of inhibiting chain reactions in the flame combustion zone. The effectiveness of the aerosol fire suppression system is ensured by controlling the chemical processes of combustion: when the device is activated, the reagent suppresses the chain reaction, making further flame propagation impossible. Structurally, the GOAP “PROTECT” is a solid aerosol-forming compound (charge), which, during a thermochemical reaction, releases a fire-extinguishing aerosol. The charge is encased in a shell with cooling material to reduce the temperature of the aerosol and is placed in a metal (aluminum) housing. To activate the charge, the GOAP “PROTECT” uses a mechanical, friction-based ignition mechanism.

The principle of aerosol fire suppression is as follows: upon manual mechanical activation, the GOAP “PROTECT” generates a cloud of the active substance. The agent fills the volume of the room or fire source within a few seconds, stopping the spread of the flames and reducing their intensity to zero. Aerosol fire suppression is characterized by its prolonged effect (when used in a conditionally enclosed space): the flame-retardant particles are very small (up to 10 microns), allowing them to remain as a fine mist cloud for up to half an hour, preventing the re-ignition of the fire.

The aerosol composition is safe for the environment and material assets, and is low in toxicity for humans. The aerosol does not interact with most materials and can be easily removed from any surface after settling. It also does not affect the ozone layer.
